Hello! My name is Panagiotis Nikolaos Lalagkas, but you can call me Panos. I am a PhD student in Biology at UMass Lowell and I have background in Pharmacy and in Pharmacoepidemiology. I am excited about research and its impact on patients’ life. For this reason, I have committed myself to the world of scientific research focusing in bridging the gap between data generation and analysis for the improvement of patient outcome.

My research interests revolve around how to infer biological meaning from high dimensional and complex data set of abundant public health datasets that will benefit public interest. Certain areas I am interested in are drug discovery and precision medicine.

I’m a Public Health major and this is my first research lab and coding experience. I’m enjoying it and I learn something new everyday about science, programing, and even myself. After graduation I plan on either going to medical school or getting my masters and doctoral degree in epidemiology. For fun I’m either at the gym picking up heavy things and putting them back down or singing and listening to music.

Hi! My name is Wendy. I’m an undergraduate student majoring in Computer Science on the Data Science track. I’m excited about disease research and the intersection of biology and computer science. So, I’m interested in data analysis and computational models to find biological insights. After graduating, I plan on either pursuing a master’s in Bioinformatics or going straight into the industry. In my free time, I enjoy cooking and practicing more artistic pursuits (drawing, playing piano, writing).

I am a Yash Verma, a senior undergraduate Bioinformatics major at UMass Lowell. This is my first real research lab experience and I love how interesting and challenging it is. My plan is to work in more research labs, as a scribe, and as an EMT before applying to medical school in a couple of years. In my free time, I enjoy listening to informative podcasts about the stock market and politics.
